Orientation 2007

I designed my first tshirt in 2000. It was for my Jr. Civitan group at my high school. When I saw my design printed on a tshirt for the first time, that is when it hit me that I like this whole designing thing. That's when I started drawing other tshirts and then started painting canvases.

One of my favorite things to do is hand draw tshirts- and this past week I was asked by alma mater to design this year's Orientation tshirt. They had already picked the theme: MC. My College. So I used different aspects of campus that may reflect different students' meanings of the college.

I always draw a pencil sketch, then usually another sketch with a sharpie marker, and then draw the real thing. I thought I would post some pictures of the design...

This was my 2nd sketch.

And here is the final black and white copy of the back. Each circle represents different things on campus. The first is the kugel (the globe), then Provine Chapel, then the colesium, the logo, and then the clock tower on one of the buildings.

And then you have the front of the shirt....
